Terezin - Children of the Holocaust is film produced, co-directed and acted in by Northeastern University Freshman Andrew Valianti.  Terezin follows a day and night in the lives of six children held at Camp Theresienstadt in the Czech Republic.  The camp, also known as Terezin, imprisoned thousands of European Jews, including over 15,000 children during the Nazi era.

For 50 years Terezin has been performed live, as a stage play, for schools and audiences locally and around the world.  Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, live productions had to be paused.  With the backdrop of headlines about the pandemic, global protests for social justice, and the rise of discriminatory acts and hate speech the message of Terezin is more important and resonant than ever.

Valianti decided turn the stage play into a film by creating a "social bubble" to rehearse, and for the very first time, professionally film a production of Terezin

The film features an introduction from playwright Anna Smulowitz, followed by a production of Terezin, and after the credits there is a Cast Talk-Back about the performance.

The virtual film premiere of Terezin is February 6th with two screenings at 2PM and 7PM.  Tickets can be purchased for $25 at https://terezin.eventcube.io/.  Northeastern students can email valianti.a@northeastern.edu for a complimentary ticket.
