This workshop tailors mastering engineer Bob Katz's philosophy for capturing a vocalist's best performance to Northeastern University Library's Recording Studios. Participants will learn:

• How to create the right atmosphere for the vocalist.
• Proper and effective signal flow.
• Headphone signal path and vocalist headphones mix.
• How to determine the best microphone for the individual.
• The best microphone placement for tone and volume control.
• Equalization and compression.
