 sian/Pacific American Caucus.\n\n \n\nAbout the panelists:\n\nMike Baccam:
 \n\nMike Baccam is an Acquisitions Editor at the University of Washington 
 Press specializing in Asian American studies\, Western US history\, enviro
 nmental history\, and critical ethnic studies.\n\n \n\nClare Mao:\n\nClare
  Mao is a literary agent at Sanford J. Greenburger Associates\, where she 
 represents adult fiction and nonfiction. Clare was born and raised in Quee
 ns\, NY\, went to college in the Midwest\, and now lives in Brooklyn. Prio
 r to joining Greenburger in 2023\, she worked at Europa Content and Janklo
 w & Nesbit. Her clients are poets\, musicians\, journalists\, artists\, ba
 r owners\, therapists\, and more\, and include Johanna Hedva\, Sally Wen M
 ao\, Mimi Zhu\, Fariha Roisin\, and Simon Wu. In fiction\, she is drawn to
  literary and upmarket fiction\, and in nonfiction\, she represents mostly
  narrative nonfiction such as memoirs or essay collections\, as well as il
 lustrated projects like cookbooks and decks. Some notable titles of the pa
 st few years include The Impossible City by Karen Cheung\, a memoir about 
 growing up in Hong Kong during the years of the handover\, Negatives by Am
 y Fleisher Madden\, a photographic archive of emo music\, Trickster’s Jo
 urney by Jia Sung\, a tarot deck based on Chinese mythology and Buddhist i
 conography\, and American Bulk by Emily Mester\, an essay collection that 
 examines American consumer culture through family history.\n\nAcross genre
 s\, she is drawn to writers who are curious\, thoughtful\, and critical\, 
 who have expansive interests and concerns including and outside of writing
 \, with a particular affinity for those writing across disciplines. In gen
 eral\, she is interested in writing about solidarity and progressive/radic
 al politics\, food\, art\, fashion\, pop culture\, new modes of creating c
 ommunity\, and the environment. Most importantly\, she likes to work with 
 writers who are having fun.\n\n \n\nTina Chen:\n\nTina Chen is the directo
 r of Penn State’s Global Asias Initiative\, founding editor of the award
 -winning journal Verge: Studies in Global Asias\, and author of Double Age
 ncy: Acts of Impersonation in Asian American Literature and Culture. She i
 s interested in speculative fictions\, the imaginable ageography of Global
  Asias\, and developing a more capaciously imagined scholarly praxis. Over
  the last decade\, she has been conceptualizing Global Asias as/through 
 “alien form\,” an approach that leverages the structural dissonances o
 f generic frictions to help us reimagine the genres of scholarly labor eve
 n as they paradoxically operate to remake generic distinctions as we know
