Open Education Resources (OERs) are teaching, learning, and research resources that an author has explicitly granted permission for others to use and repurpose. Ranging from textbooks to interactive digital platforms, OERs are usually produced by educators, but also can be collaboratively created with students. OERs can benefit students by reducing the cost of education, reducing barriers to access, and including historically marginalized authors. In this workshop, offered in collaboration with the Northeastern University Library, you will learn how to find and evaluate OERs and consider ways that OERs might be valuable to your students’ learning. We will share several examples of OER usage, and support participants in brainstorming uses for OERs in their context.
