Please join us for the ninth annual NULab spring conference, featuring talks by Northeastern faculty, staff, students, and collaborators about their work in computational social science and digital humanities. This year's theme is "Collective Persistence," and the conference will include a diverse set of interdisciplinary presentations on topics including digital archiving, oral history, network analysis, Indigenous language preservation, ethical applications of AI, and more.

 

The conference will be completely virtual this year, taking place on May 1 from 10:30am–3pm Boston / 7:30am–12pm Oakland / 3:30–8pm London.

 

This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required. RSVP here. Speakers and more details to be announced soon! 

 

Program Overview (Times below are in Eastern)

10:30–11:00 a.m. — Social Hour & Icebreaker: Grab your breakfast, lunch, or tea and ease into the day with us. Share encouragement with other participants and discuss how we as a community can support collective persistence. 

11:00–11:15 a.m. — Welcome & Opening Remarks

11:15 a.m.–12:15 p.m. — Lightning Talk Panel

12:15–1:00 p.m. — Lunch Break, Posters & Breakout Discussions: Take a break and explore poster presentations, join lightning talk speakers in breakout rooms for further conversation, or mingle in the main room. Feel free to drop in and out of rooms as you like.

1:00–2:30 p.m. — Research Talk Panel & Closing

2:30–3:00 p.m. — Networking & Collaboration: Connect with fellow attendees and explore opportunities for collaboration.
