Award-winning Professor, Dr. Frances Negrón-Muntaner will  discuss her findings from her co-authored report, Not Funny: The State of Latinos in US Comedy. This report analyzes Latino humor in American media and the limited topics in comedy that engage Latinos: immigration, accents, not fitting into dominant culture and poking fun at countries of origin. This talk will provide a rich understanding of the limitations but also possibilities that comedy provides for understanding Latinos in the United States.
