Free EventNortheastern is pleased to welcome Carla Reimold, Director of Industry Programs, Massachusetts Life Sciences Center’s (MLSC). She will preview MLSC’s newest funding programs and answer questions about how they work. (Northeastern recently successfully competed for two MLSC grants.)
The Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) is an economic development and investment agency dedicated to supporting the growth and development of the life sciences in Massachusetts. Through public-private funding initiatives, the MLSC supports innovation, research & development, commercialization, and manufacturing activities in the fields of biopharma, medical device, diagnostics, and digital health.
Ranging from $750K to $2 million, MLSC funding programs include:
- Bits to Bytes (Big Data)
- Women’s Health
- Mission Possible: Novel Therapeutic Delivery
- Open Competitive Capital Program
Carla Reimold, PhD., Director of Industry Programs, MLSC
Carla joined the MLSC in April of 2018 as the Director of Industry Programs. In her role, she develops and manages the investment strategy for several initiatives with the life sciences industry, including private, public, and nonprofit stakeholders, in order to support the needs of the Commonwealth’s life sciences ecosystem.
Prior to joining the MLSC, Carla was the recipient of a NIH F32 NRSA fellowship to support her postdoctoral research at Boston Children’s Hospital. She earned a PhD in biomedical engineering from the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering at North Carolina State University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and has authored and co-authored 16 peer-reviewed publications in the fields of tissue engineering and wound repair.
