Do you want to learn more about how LLMs predict text? Why prompting techniques work? Where hallucinations come from? 

Join us for a research workshop on building intuition for how generative AI works. This won't be a technical deep-dive, but a workshop for curious non-experts who want better mental models for what LLMs are doing.

We're testing three different approaches. Everyone will learn the same core ideas (e.g., how LLMs predict text, why prompting techniques like few-shot examples work), but each session uses a different tool or activity to get there.

What's involved

- A 90-minute in-person workshop on the Northeastern Boston campus, including a recorded group discussion and short surveys

- Optional: a 30-minute virtual interview with a researcher afterward

Eligibility

- 18 or older

- Northeastern faculty, staff, or student

- Fluent in English

- No research or professional background in AI (and not affiliated with the NDIF team)

- Able to attend in person on the Boston campus (WVH) on 7/14, 7/15, or 7/16
