About this Event
Are you wondering what the library can offer to support your classwork, research, or teaching with data?
This workshop will introduce you to finding data and statistics to answer questions, analyze quantitative information, and support your arguments, using the following two resources:
Statista: find answers to questions like, “how many?” and “is this increasing or decreasing?” using a comprehensive website of statistics, with graphs and charts on almost any subject.
Sage data: find data sets on a topic, and use built-in tools for analysis, in order to focus on the variables that interest you, make comparisons, and study relationships.
In the final part of the session, you will have a chance to explore a third resource of your choosing based on your own personal interests.
This workshop is for anyone beginning a quest for data and statistics to support your classroom activites, research, and interests. No prior knowledge of statistical methods or library resources is necessary.
