About this Event
On November 21, the Mills Institute will host its inaugural conference on the Oakland campus. Empowering Change through Radical Care will bring together Bay Area-based scholars, activists, and care-work professionals to facilitate learning and to build new collaborations and connections. This event is in-person. All Oakland faculty are invited to attend and registration is required.

The Mills Institute was developed when Mills College merged with Northeastern University in 2022 in order to preserve and advance Mills' commitment to racial and gender justice. The inaugural 2024 conference is co-sponsored by the Northeastern University Center for Transformative Action, the Humanities Center, Community to Community Policy Equity for All, The NULab for Digital Humanities and Computational Social Science, and the Department of Politics, Philosophy, and Economics.
