The soccer legend speaks about his new book, White Thinking: Behind the Mask of Racial Identity. Lilian Thuram had a prestigious international career in football for the 1998 World Cup winning French national team. In 2008, he created the Lilian Thuram Foundation for Education to fight against racism, and has since become a high profile activist providing workshops, lectures, and exhibitions.

 

The event will be moderated by Régine Jean-Charles, Director of Africana Studies, Dean’s Professor of Culture and Social Justice, Professor of Africana Studies and Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies.

 

Co-sponsored by the CSSH Dean's Office, Northeastern Humanities Center, the History Department, the Department of Cultures, Societies and Global Studies, the Africana Studies program, the French Program in the World Languages Center, and the Center for the Study of Sport in Society.
