Please join us for our lightning talks event on “Digital Stories for Justice,” October 16, 12–1pm Boston, 9–10am Oakland, 5–6pm London. This virtual event will feature lightning talks that showcase the diverse array of digital projects and research being carried out at Northeastern, highlighting a series of social justice research projects. Join us to learn about projects and methods in digital scholarship and meet others interested in or practicing computational social science and digital humanities from the Northeastern communities. This event will be co-hosted with the Digital Scholarship Group as part of the Digital Humanities Open Office Hours series.
The panel will feature lightning talks by:
- Sam Kemp–English, Northeastern University London–on the Wapping Dispute project
- Vaishali Kushwaha–Public Policy–on the Unveiling of Human-Environment Digital Narratives project
- Cassie Tanks–History–on After the War: A Collaborative Public Digital History Project
- Yukun Yang–Network Science–on the Mapping Real-World Migration Flow Network Using Context-Rich Social Media Data project
Following the talks, there will be time for questions and discussion among the presenters and attendees. We hope to see you there!
