DESCRIPTION:Please join us for this year's Denise Carty Bennia Memorial Bar
Award Ceremony and Reception\, which will be held on Thursday\, May 25th\,
2017 from 4:00 to 5:15 p.m. in the Moot Court Room\, located at 65 Forsyth
Street. Beverages and delectable hors d'oeuvres will be served. \n\nPlease
click here to register online! Registration is required. \n\nThis year's p
rogram is graciously sponsored by Sherin and Lodgen. \n\nProfessor Denise C
arty-Bennia was a highly successful attorney and tireless educator\, adviso
r\, mentor\, and friend to countless Northeastern law students. She was ded
icated to the pursuit of academic excellence and the expansion of opportuni
ties for people of color. Professor Carty-Bennia's untimely death in 1990 c
reated a void for many who knew her and her work.\n\nEach year\, as the app
lications for this award are reviewed\, it is inspiring to see that so many
Northeastern law students have dedicated themselves to improving the socia
l and political issues that affect our communities as she did. Professor Ca
rty-Bennia's dedication survives in the memories of those who knew and work
ed with her and lives on in those who choose to pursue a similar dream.\n\n
