How do our identities and experiences inform how we approach anti-racist pedagogy? How can we cultivate and facilitate anti-racist learning environments by embodying particular practices? In this community conversation, we will consider excerpts from therapist and trauma specialist Resmaa Menakem’s book My Grandmother’s Hands (2017) on how to attend to our bodies and nervous systems throughout our experience. To do so, we will engage in contemplative practices that help embody how we integrate anti-racist awareness into our facilitation of learning. We will also discuss implications for assessing the learning and experiences that come up in our own contexts.
