Please join us for our annual Alumni/ae of Color Panel & Lunch on Thursday, October 15th from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. in 42 Dockser Hall.

This panel is sponsored by the Office of Alumni/ae Relations and Development and the Northeastern University School of Law Alumni/ae Association Board of Directors and features outstanding graduates of color who discuss their professional career choices, highlights, and pathways with current NUSL students. All are welcome to attend.

Gabriel Cheong '07 is the owner of Infinity Law Group LLC in Quincy, MA. He holds a JD from Northeastern University School of Law, a BS in Computer Science and a BA in Mathematics from Binghamton University.  Gabriel started his own law firm straight out of law school. His law firm grew steadily for the first year until he had the opportunity to purchase the law firm where he once interned in law school. In 2008, Gabriel purchased Infinity Law Group and is now running his law firm while blogging, tweeting, marketing and giving seminars on marketing and law practice management on a regular basis. His law practice is primarily focused on divorce and family law litigation and mediation. 

Gabriel currently serves as a council member of the Law Practice Management section of the Massachusetts Bar Association and is also the vice president of Starting Out Solo, Inc., a group devoted to helping attorneys who start a private practice after law school succeed. He also serves as the immediate past president of Quincy Asian Resources, Inc., a non-profit organization devoted to helping the Asian community through information services, outreach, language classes, legal clinics, volunteering and youth programs. 

Annette Green ’97 is partner of the Law Offices of Donald E. Green, where she does private practice alongside her husband. Their practice is primarily focused on personal injury and civil litigation. After graduating with a JD from Northeastern University School of Law in 1997, in addition to starting a private practice with her husband, Annette went on to serve as a bar advocate for both the Roxbury and Dorchester district courts in the criminal and juvenile sessions respectively. She is a member of the Massachusetts Association of Women and a former Minority Delegate at the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys.

The Hon. Debra Shopteese '86 is a Massachusetts State District Court trial judge currently assigned to the Roxbury District Court. Debra became the first Native American justice to sit on the Massachusetts District Court after being sworn in on September 21st, 2011. Prior to being sworn in, she was a public defender for her entire years of practice. 

Raquel Webster ’03 is senior counsel in the regulatory group at National Grid, where she represents the company in regulatory proceedings in Rhode Island and advises clients regarding regulatory compliance and strategy on a wide range of statewide energy policy initiatives. 

Prior to working at National Grid, Raquel was an assistant corporation counsel at the City of Boston Law Department, where she represented the city in state and federal court and before administrative agencies in all stages of litigation involving civil rights, employment and tort law. Raquel also spent seven years at a large law firm in Boston. Raquel is a former fellow of the Boston Bar Association's (BBA) Public Interest Leadership Program, and currently serves on the BBA's Subcommittee for the Community Reentry Readiness Program, a collaboration between the BBA and the District Court of Massachusetts that focuses on providing educational training programs for federal probationers on a wide variety of topics. Raquel is a member of the board of trustees for the Massachusetts Women's Bar Assocation, the Boston Preparatory Public Charter School, and the Northeastern University School of Law Alumni/ae Association. She is an appointed hearing officer for the Boston Board of Bar Overseers and an appointed member of the City of Boston Women's Workforce Council.
