Responding to Hate
Mass shootings from Parkland to Pittsburgh to Christchurch, and to El Paso and Dayton, have raised questions about the toxic mixtures of access to guns and public discourse that inspires fear and hate. It has also raised questions concerning the need for new norms and guardrails regarding the conduct of public conversations, the role of public scholars in guiding these conversations, and the use of disparaging language and actions against people we disagree with. Northeastern experts examine these complex issues in conversation with the audience.
