Masks in motion

This event features a theater representation and a workshop to introduce students to the style and history of Commedia dell’Arte. Besides learning about Commedia, students will physically explore the classical stock characters and scenarios, learn about Lazzi and the gibberish language called Grammelot; all at the same time developing an appreciation for the international and historical context of Commedia dell’Arte. Pazzi Lazzi is a Boston based troupe devoted to preserving and celebrating the classical style of Commedia dell’Arte. Music is provided by Renaissonics, an acknowledged leading ensemble of Renaissance Dance, Chamber Music, and Improvisation.
Free and open to the public.
