Ambitious people are often told that the key to success is a clear goal, and that relentless pursuit of that goal is what divides the winners from the losers. But is that true? What if another way of thinking could also help facilitate our own success, or be complimentary for us? What is not discussed enough is how destructive single-minded goals can actually be. What if you invest all of your energy in the wrong goal? What if, try as you might, you never manage to achieve that elusive goal? What if you reach the goal only to realize that it doesn't deliver the satisfaction you dreamed of?

When Taryn Ash was in her early 20s, she had an epiphany - rather than concentrating on a narrow goal, she would focus on how she wanted to live.  To her, that meant choosing growth through varied experiences and saying "yes" to life's abundant opportunities, rather than pursuing a singular mission. Twenty-five years on, she's now convinced that this subtle change of mindset led to a far richer and more satisfying life than she might otherwise have had, including a far richer career experience.

During this interactive talk, Taryn will lead a discussion on living fully, seeking risks and valuing continuous growth on your own terms.
