Free EventJoin Doctor of Education (EdD) faculty member, Dr. Kristal Clemons, and her former advisee, now EdD alum, and California State Teacher of the Year (2010), Dr. Edward Mooney, to discuss his dissertation, "The effects of witnessing a school shooting on a teacher's career: a narrative study." Drs. Clemons and Mooney will cover a variety of topics including:
Dr. Mooney will speak specifically to his study of two teachers before, during, and after they witnessed school shootings as to determine the impact these incidents have on the lives and careers of teachers. In addition he will explore the psychological and organizational factors that affect educators who witness such unexpected and unfortunate events.
