About this Event
Higgs Boson, Inflation and Gravitational Non-Minimal Couplings
Xavier Calmet
University of Sussex, UK
“In this seminar I will discuss the first ever bound on the non-minimal coupling of the Higgs boson to space-time curvature and review our current knowledge of the bounds of higher dimensional gravitational operators. I will then discuss models using the Higgs boson as the inflaton and discuss potential issues with perturbative unitarity in these models. I will then show that a self-healing mechanism is at work in the minimalistic Higgs inflation model which is thus a perfectly viable model to describe particle physics and inflation up to the Planck scale.”
