Education in the Age of Austerity
Professionals in higher education are operating under increasingly acute fiscal constraints. What does an era of smaller budgets mean for the future of education? How will tighter budgets influence long-term economic and workforce development? Please join Northeastern University’s Doctor of Law and Policy for an evening lecture and discussion entitled, “Education in the Age of Austerity.” The event will take place on July 29 from 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM EST at the Northeastern University Alumni Center, located at 716 Columbus Avenue.
This event will include remarks by Tom Birmingham, former Massachusetts Senate President and architect of the Education Reform Act of 1993 and Jim DiTullio, General Counsel for the Massachusetts Executive Office of Education. Our speakers will address the present state of education and the policy mechanisms available ensure both high quality outcomes and fiscal sustainability.
