About this Event
The NRC Report of April 2009 made 13 Recommendations. Recommendation 3 is a call for more research to establish the scientific foundations of the forensic science disciplines, and Recommendation 10 is a plea to create a more scholarly environment by attracting student from physical & life sciences and pursuing closer ties to the academic community. Over the past 6 years, the forensic science community has had some fits and starts on the way to realizing these and the other 11 Recommendations raising the question, “Is Forensic Science Really Ready for More Science?”
Distinguished Lecturer: Dr. Jeff Salyards, Executive Director of the Defense Forensic Science Center
