For the second year, Northeastern University will be co-host of the 12th Boston Latino International Film festival, along with Harvard University.

 

This two-weekend festival of six intense days of films, receptions, and special events will start with an opening reception on November 14th at Harvard and continue to Northeastern University on November 16th and 17th.

The Boston Latino International Film Festival is committed to breaking stereotypes and building communities by using the medium of film to strengthen inter-cultural understanding and promote work of independent filmmakers. Since 2001, BLIFF receives approximately 300 films yearly to compete for a spot at the festival but only the top films are selected. This year, BLIFF will be featuring over 70 films from 17 countries, including the United States, Argentina, Cuba, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Spain, Costa Rica, and Mexico, among others. All of these films will be premiering in Boston.

On Saturday November 16th and Sunday the 17th BLIFF will be screening at Northeastern University, West Village “F”, Room 20.

A reception with be held at Northeastern on Sunday November 17, 8pm at the Visitor’s Center at West Village “F”.
