About this Event
Center for Health Policy and Law Annual Health Law Conference
Emerging Infectious diseases such as Ebola and the Zika virus pose potentially grave threats to human health. They can also incite overreations that lead to the scapegoating of vulnerable populations and counter-productive public health responses, such as occurred during the 2014 Ebola outbreak. This one day conference Between Complacency and Panic: Legal, Ethical and Policy Responses to Emerging Infectious Diseases, will bring together leading policymakers, practitioners and academics to explore the dangers of such diseases and to discuss the development of effective, evidence-based, legally sound and ethically appropriate policy responses.
Keynote speaker: Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases
